Just today, (and I may sound really lame right now) I found that Sony Ericsson's latest slider is already available for sale on eBay. Yep! :) That slider is called.. Sony Ericsson W760i.

Okay.. so, if you've read the specs, then I don't need to tell you why I like this phone. Some people might not like the design, which looks a little contemporary (I read this somewhere), but.. that's all good for me. There is less chance that I will come across someone who likes it for how it looks. I like it, aside from the looks (that are appealing to ME), because it's feature packed.

It's a slider phone. 3g HSDPA / which also translates to 3.5G here in the Philippines. 3.5G means faster browsing, a little faster than 3G (0.5 difference?). Accelerometer (changing orientation from portrait to landscape) , SenseMe, Shake Control, TrackID, Bluetooth stereo (A2DP) and.. to top that all up, is built-in GPS receiver.

I mean.. c'mon! Ain't it sexy?? Right?? It's either this or... Sony Ericsson C702.

it's 3.2 MP Cybershot candybar. What makes this phone amazing is not the Cybershot brand, but the fact that it's splash and dust proof. :D Exactly what I needed. :) It has Bluetooth A2DP support and hyper fast browsing thru HSDPA so.. I guess it's ok. :D

Sony Ericsson's Z770 gets a Ducati-themed version

Sony Ericsson's Z770 handset has received a face lift, with help from bike manufacturer Ducati. It's the first time in a while that a phone maker has gone to a bike maker to design a handset, the trend is normally car makers.

Unsurprisingly, it is to be launched in Ducati's native Italy next month, by network operator TIM. Expect the usual Ducati-themed wallpapers, ringtones, screensaves and the like. It will also ship with a Ducati-branded bluetooth headset.

Sony Ericsson never disappointed young mobile users and to keep things this way the Swedish-Japanese company has partnered with MTV Europe in order to release a special edition of its latest W760 walkman handset.

The Sony Ericsson W760 MTV Edition will be available in a couple of weeks, in Italy at first, with other European markets to follow shortly. The MTV phone will have a retail price of about 300 Euros ($460), which is more than the price of the normal device (around 260 Euros).

The MTV-esque W760 has a cheerfully colored case and (apparently) it will allow users to easily stream MTV music, videos and other mobile content. Aside from these aspects, the handset doesn't seem to be different than the original one. Therefore, users who buy the W760 MTV Edition will get the same slider phone that includes the following features: Walkman 3.0 player, high-end stereo speakers, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, SensMe and TrackID, shake control, FM radio with RDS – all these for a great mobile music experience.

Furthermore, the W760 comes with a 2.2 inch TFT display with support for 262K colors and 240 x 320 pixels, tri-band HSDPA connectivity for high data transfer speeds and quick Web browsing, motion sensor, built-in GPS, Google Maps, Wayfinder Navigator, NetFront browser, email, RSS feed reader, a 3.2 Megapixel camera with video recording, pre-installed Need for Speed ProStreet game, USB 2.0, organizer, handsfree, push to talk and a 1GB memory card (you can change it with a new one, of higher capacity).

Sony Ericsson W760 measures 103 x 48 x 15 millimeters (when not slid), weighs 103 grams and includes a BST-38 Li-Po battery that can offer a talk-time of up to 9 hours and a stand-by time of up to 400 hours.

Beberapa type baru handphone Sony Ericsson sudah tersedia untuk dibeli, termasuk di Indonesia, seperti W380, K660, Z555 dan Z770. Tak lama lagi akan segera menyusul (prediksi antara bulan Mei sampai dengan Juni) adalah W760 dan C702. Mudah-mudahan salah satu antara G700 dan G900 juga akan segera menyusul, lebih bagus lagi kalau keduanya meluncur bersamaan.

SonyEricsson recently announced two handsets with GPS built-in, which shall be rolled out from Q2 2008 on:

• C702 CyberShot with locaction-based imaging services (geotagging) and Google Maps
• W760 Walkman with Google Maps, Wayfinder Navigator and "a GPS-supported fitness application called Tracker that can tell you how fast, for how long and how far you ran (or walked!)"

On January 6, 2008, Sony Ericsson announced the new W760 Walkman® mobile phone - the eighth Sony Ericsson phone to support the Mobile Services Architecture (MSA) umbrella standard (JSR 248). This tri-band HSDPA slider-style phone features music management with Shake Control and track discovery using TrackID™, 3D gaming boosted by an accelerometer and A/B buttons, and assisted GPS.MSA can now be found in eight Sony Ericsson phone series - the K630, K660, K850, V640, W760, W890, W910 and Z750 – giving developers a range of Java™ ME programming features including instant messaging/chat and presence based functionality, handling banking, payment transactions, user identification and authentication through secure encryption technology. Mobile Services Architecture (MSA) on eight phone series

The mandatory APIs supported through MSA include 3D graphics, personal information management, Bluetooth™, Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG), web services, location services and payment services for Java ME. Sony Ericsson has supported several of these APIs in its earlier Java Platform versions but with MSA there is finally industry alignment and a clear set of expectations on the implementation of these JSRs. With MSA, the mass-market mobile phone becomes an increasingly capable platform for enterprise development and it will be possible to ensure secure data storage and communication and create new innovative applications.

MSA reduces variations in the platform environment and creates a predictable environment for application developers, reducing porting issues when creating new applications and games for mass-market feature-rich phones. The recently released Sony Ericsson SDK 2.5.0 for the Java ME Platform supports MSA and also offers improved on-device debugging through new phone connectivity and the addition of Chinese fonts.
