Yes, I finally got the C3P0 Pepsi Be@rbrick! I had been searching for him since they came out. I think he might be the rarest one, or maybe the most popular. Yurie finally found him at the grocery store. I was starting to loose hope as many stores didn't have them anymore. You can see him below out of the package. He's so shiny and awesome!

Wii Music:This long rumored title allows you to play over 50 different instruments using motion controls including the balance board.  The game appears to require no beat matching or skill of any kind - it's somewhat awkward looking.

While the "highlight" of the press conference, I found this title unimpressive, and therefore have not created a Pre-Release Buzz post for it.

Other Wii items featured at the conference were Shaun White's snowboarding game, Animal Crossing: City Folk, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, & Rayman Raving Rabbids: TV Party.

 So why the somber mood when Wii got so much that we wanted (A Wii Sports sequel, voice chat, and Animal Crossing for its cult fans) - because Nintendo's extreme secrecy had us waiting for a groundbreaking announcement that nobody could have predicted.  When that announcement never came, we couldn't help but be left wanting more.

Not a bad idea actually...and it sure adds the potential for alot of new character diversity and development.

The television industry has yet to catch-up with the movie industry in closing the gaps in worldwide release dates of movies, the internet has forced the hand of the movie industry with downloading. I'm quite happy to life in a country where it's perfectly legal to download music, movies and television series. The only thing I end up downloading are the television series.

I have noticed that the releasing of television series overseas is starting to come closer to the American release. Where it would certainly take over 4 years this gap has closed to 2 and in some cases 1 year. Heroes is a good example, season 2 first aired in the US in September and it only took 9 or 10 months for it to be Broadcast on Dutch television. Naturally I'd see it already as, apparently, it had been broadcast on a French or French language station. (Which is where my rips came from.)

The game is centered around Return of the Jedi, in particular the space battle that was going on whilst Han Solo et al were trying to shut down the shield generator on Endor.  All your favourite Starwars sounds are here, from the "neeowwmmm" of the Tiefighters to the "dum dum dum" Battle of Hoth soundtrack.    The game is completely freeware (as is usual for all reviews here).

Graphics are a simplistic 3d affair, with little use of textures, however its very fast and in the heat of the battles the graphics are not something which you have the time to pay much attention to.

Overall an excellent game, addictive and its Starwars!

No sé como no había visto nada de esto antes. Dos de las cosas más importante que marcaron mi infancia: Lego y Starwars, junto con uno de mis pasa tiempos preferidos: La fotografía.

Hay cantidad de material al respecto en internet, Flickr es una  de las mejores fuentes de este tipo de material. Allí encontré a Mike Stimpson  y su genial manejo de los objetivos y la iluminación macro. Pero Mike no se detiene en Starwar, también recrea momentos de la historia con sus figuritas de lego como la famosa foto de Jeff Widener “El rebelde desconocido” en la plaza Tiananmen, o la de Joe Rosenthal “El izamiento de la bandera en Iwo Jima”

Bueno, la verdad es que hay de todo un poco.

This is a dark comic book overall as we've reported before..characters..good characters die and their families live on so we can see the grief.

Dark Times indeed.

Now for Vector the series moves to Rebellion for Luke Skywalker to deal with. So far in six issues of Vector the story has been ..ho hum..not bad but not terribly exciting either.

As for Dark Times no more issues till 2009!!!

La Guerre des Mondes, vu par Benjamin Carré...

Aujourd'hui, j'aimerai vous parler d'un artiste que j'ai connu par deux fois, comme cela peut se faire généralement : grâce à son travail, et ensuite grâce aux forums sur lesquels nous avons pu faire connaissance par pur hasard. Il s'appelle Benjamin Carré.

J'avais acheté le livre La Guerre des Mondes, une fois le film de Steven Spielberg sorti. Je ne m'étais jamais interessé à l'univers de H.G. Wells, mais je tente de réparer mon erreur depuis. Ce qui m'avait alors attiré dans le bouquin, c'etait avant tout l'illustration de couverture (voir ci-dessus, cliquez sur l'image si vous êtes curieux).

Le dessin me rappelait ces vieux films de science fiction des années 50, terriblement kitsh. Mais la beauté du spectacle, simple et à la fois efficace, me fit penser que l'artiste avait vraiment voulu rendre hommage à une période de l'histoire du cinéma. Hommage réussi, sans conteste.

Par la suite donc, j'ai pu m'entretenir avec Benjamin via un forum dédié à une passion commune pour une célèbre bestiole sans regard. J'ai reconnu immédiatement ses ovnis, lorsque Benjamin se mis à exposer ses illustrations dans un de ses premiers commentaires. La suite est encore plus drôle, alors que Benjamin, mine de rien, lâche une bombe sur le forum :

Moi, fan de Starwars dans toute sa splendeur, reste un moment bouche bé devant ce nouvel ovni. Illustration parfaite, capture d'un moment de la saga qui n'existe tout simplement pas visuellement en tant que tel : Boba Fett livrant Han Solo dans la carbonite à un Jabba le Hutt réjoui.

Benjamin explore l'univers des 6 films grâce à son imagination, et, visiblement, à sa culture starwarsienne proprement dite. Mais ce qui frappe réellement, lorsqu'on a la culture adéquate, c'est l'hommage implicite à un autre grand artiste qui a travaillé pour George Lucas à l'époque de la trilogie classique, le bien nommé Ralph Mc Quarrie :

Ralph Mc Quarrie a apporté, en son temps, ce que Benjamin apporte aujourd'hui : une vision.

Pour la petite histoire : Benjamin Carré est né en 1973 dans la région parisienne. Après des études d'arts graphiques à l'école Penninghen, il dessine pour des jeux de rôle, puis réalise des couvertures de romans de Science-Fiction. après huit ans passé à Darkworks comme designer de jeux vidéos, il sort son premier album Bd : Smoke city. désormais Benjamin exerce toute ces activités en même temps et commence a découvrir le métier de designer dans le monde du cinéma... Ses créations graphiques ont été célébrées par le Prix Vision du futur, le Prix de l'imaginaire, ainsi que celui d'Art&Fact et des imaginales.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars (rated PG) would appear to be the meat and potatoes that was missing from Star Wars: Episode II - Attack Of The Clones, but I'm really not sure when, where or how it all ties in.  All I know is that it is a new Star Wars movie, albeit a computer animated installment, and there is something hardwired within me that says I have to see this movie or the balance of the universe could be at stake.  So it's pretty simple.  I gotta see it. :) Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about this movie, other than the fact that I feel compelled to see it.  There's no real anticipation.  The trailers don't make my eyes light up with joy and wonderment.  Yet go see it, I must. ;)

Thu-thee thu-thee thu-thee thu-that's all folks. :P Sad but true.  Only one movie and my heart doesn't even sing for it.  Oh well. :neutral:

The upcoming Star Wars-themed game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is a title that a lot of console gamers are looking forward to, especially Wii owners who can't wait to wield their Wii Remote as a lightsaber.

But, the new gaming platform on the block--the Apple iPhone--will be getting the game as well thanks to THQ Wireless.

Don't worry--you won't have to swing your iPhone around as a lightsaber and risk smashing your precious into something. The iPhone's accelerometer will only be used to switch between portrait and landscape view.

You will, however, be able use the iPhone's touchscreen to control the action o the screen and to navigate through dialog boxes.

CrunchGear got their hands on a video of the game in action--definitely worth checking out if. Beginning around the 2:42 mark things start to get a bit more interesting as you'll see how to use the touchscreen to control action including the use of force powers.
