America hasn’t been able to touch the remote following the presidential campaign since Mitt Ro

America hasn't been able to touch the remote following the presidential campaign since Mitt Romney said he was running back in 2002, but the bloggers here are not entirely sure how much you've been keeping up with what's been happening on the tubes-- the YouTubes, that is-- and the wonderful acoustic productions that have been put up there since. Thanks the advent of technology, the hobos on your street corner that think they're musicians now have an international platform on which to broadcast their "art!"

Has your Justin Timberlake collection fried your brain and exhausted your patience? Need a new playlist to replace the soundtrack to "El Cantante" that has been on repeat since February? Have no fear! Here we provide you with ten of the catchiest masterpieces of political pop to have come out of this national nightmare since the days when everyone thought Al Gore was going to come back from the (political) dead and force us all to plant trees.

In no particular order:

1. "Hillary 'Pa Los Hispanos," Johnny Canales. For the past decade or so, Democratic capture of the most ignorant factions of minority populations has been nothing short of a national joke, and America's Latino population the punchline (needless to say that with the advents of naturalization and effective bilingual education, this is no longer a case). Since, of course, Hillary Clinton's life is still existing in a small micro-climate circa 1992, she thought she had the Latino vote in the bag, and instead of presenting the minority- almost the nation's largest- with a tangible platform on what her presidency will be like, she wrote this Mexicanized fantasy piece where Johnny Canales assures his paisanos that Bill Clinton's experience somehow translates into Hillary's, too! I guess the joke was on her and her astronomical campaign debt.

2. "Yes We Can"- Will.I.Am featuring random celebrities: Will.I.Am, a rapper/noisemaker who had previously done nothing of positive note with his obnoxious band, the Black-Eyed Peas, somehow found it in himself to raise the bar on supporter-generated campaign music by, rather than coming up with stupid lyrics and singing himself, just taking one of Barack Obama's genial speeches and putting it to an acoustic guitar and some politically aware singers that are better than him. I have no idea what it is exactly that "yes, we can" do, but that doesn't change the fact that by the end of the song I'm sobbing hysterically and yelling "God Bless America!"

3. "The Ron Paul Song," Anonymous (?): Picking just one Ron Paul cult song was a heart-wrenching decision (the population of the Ron Paul seems to entirely consist of bad guitarists with a YouTube obsession). But this one has a catchy synthesizer and the drug-induced stupor that the girl in the beginning of the video is experiencing seems to epitomize the entire Paul campaign best.

4. "Lean on Fred," Edward Daley: Like "It's Raining McCain," this isn't an original song, so it shouldn't be here, but it's fairly creative and also the only song anyone ever bothered to put together about Fred Thompson, who, like Obama, didn't really have a platform, except he didn't have enthusiasm, youth or ethnicity to push him through. And he was older than John McCain, meaning he was visibly decomposing during the debates.

5. "I've Got a Crush on Obama (Remix)," Obama Girl featuring Mike Gravel. The same tune, the same annoying average-looking girl in bikinis, but this time ex-presidential candidate Mike gravel of Alaska makes the whole experience much more palatable. That and the Anderson Cooper cameo appearance.

I remember the first time I heard of this “Obama” person. A couple of friends were talki

I remember the first time I heard of this "Obama" person. A couple of friends were talking about the possibility that a black man might have an outside shot at becoming President of the United States. I had never heard of Barrack, so I thought they were kidding. Knowing the mainstream media was already feeding the most preposterous of nonsense to the general public, I honestly assumed they were now suggesting that Osama (bin Laden) was considering a run for the Presidency.

Having had some time to take in the odor of this campaign of hope and change (found the first image on Dedroidify's blog, recommend the entire article as an intro to some things I'll touch on later), the most surprising aspect to me is how many somewhat intelligent people are buying into this whole pile of crap. For those people: let me make it really simple: his name is Barrack Mohammed Hussein Obama! He is a psyop on the American mind.

To summarize: they [the media] have devoted years of media time to demonizing Osama, Saddam and Muslims in general. And now they're running a guy with this name? On occasion, I've even heard various media whores (I think you call them anchors) slip-up and say "Osama" instead. It's a mind-fuck people!

Didn't you Obamans learn anything about what a sham the entire election process is during the whole John Kerry hope/change fiasco? Wasn't it enough that Bush and Kerry were cousins? Yes, they created some drama in Ohio and then the alternative media focused in on stolen votes again, but isn't the real scam that we have little to no say in who our options are? Then again, I can't believe how many Americans still believe there is an actual difference between their two parties:

It's time for all of us to stop behaving like children and grow up. We need to stop looking with awe as the "fierce puppets" dance around the stage. {*1} We all need to focus our eyes at the puppeteer. When the day's drama is done, Punch and Judy (Republican and Democrat) lay in bed at night; talking, cavorting and preparing for the next show. The puppeteer, relaxes in his study, and writes the next script.

Looking at this upcoming "election," we are down to three "choices." Ron Paul had a run, but he's out (breaking the spirit of many a patriot, I'm beginning to suspect by design). The Republican primary, after the media crucified Paul, and face-man Mitt Romney dropped out, leaving Republicans with the least electable stooge:

Talk about picking a loser. Talk about baggage. Remember the S&L Bailout? Remember the "Keating 5?" This man wasn't just connected to one of the biggest scams ever run on American tax-payers, he was one of Keating Five. His bogus "war hero" image will collapse the moment someone bothers looking at how he sold out his fellow POW's [a preview]. Even though Bush "loves" him, I would truly be shocked if this codgy old war-mongering traitor is somehow selected.

The Secret Sun blog, raises another very interesting planned media tool (one they can use to explain why people "voted" one way or the other), the bogus oil crisis and its effect on the infamous "red states" (a phrase parroted about in 2004):

Always Hurt the Ones They Love

Always Hurt the Ones They Love II

Lastly, let's not count out Hillary Clinton just yet. Obama still hasn't announced who his running mate will be, and I'm betting on Hitlary (a moniker I first heard Jack Blood call her). [Oddly, aside from the traitor working on behalf of outside interests similarity, Hitler was never officially "elected" to power either.] Remember, since the day Poppy Bush let Reagan know "who" was in charge, we've had 37 years of the Bush/Clinton/Bush dynasty. So naturally, it's her turn.

Regardless, of who "wins," there is only one end result Americans [and, by default, a good part of the rest of the world] are guaranteed come November. As George Carlin [R.I.P.] used to say, that they'll get "a big red white and blue cock jammed up their asshole." {*2} Here's a little something to prepare you for the experience:

Oh, wait! Throw those condoms away! You're actually better off going bareback. A side question to those who believe America somehow gained her independence on 07/04/1776: ever wonder why we kept the red/white/blue motif for "our" flag the same colors as that of queen and cuntry? Again, George Carlin offers a lucid explanation of how our masters operate:

While the American people are assured of a loss regardless of who "wins" ... the guy's behind these puppets will profit. And the guys behind the guys? They'll profit even more. {*3} So, whose "votes" exactly are the candidates stumping for?

All one has to do is listen to these whores talk. Just count up how many times they say the word "Israel." McCain, may be the most delusional of the candidates, because he can't seem to understand he has no shot of winning. Still, here he is trying extra hard to please the Israelis, even "bringing his own Jew along to Israel" [Heard from Jon Stewart, per aforementioned clip from Dedroidify's blog].:

Oh, and as if McCain hadn't already clearly demonstrated he's more pro-Israel than pro-America, he was involved in covering up what happened on the USS Liberty. Isn't this the same John McCain who thinks we'll need to sacrifice Americans in the Middle East for the next gajillion years? I doubt his children will be going there. {*4}

Those coffins are reserved for the poor American schmoes whose economic prospects are dim. Conveniently, with a plummeting dollar and an imploding domestic economy, there should be no shortage of "volunteers" (though, that term may be highly subjective at this point). Excuse my glibness, but I assure you, I find little humor in the old joke about Americans dying for Israel's benefit.

Whether the agenda is a Greater Israel, or the strategy to balkanize all of Israel's neighbors (securing its place as the de-facto super-power of the Middle East), the Zionists' smartest strategy is to fight the war with money instead of troops. And even smarter, when it's not their money; be it money extorted out of Germany and Switzerland, or the annual stipend dumb Americans send their way, which they in turn used to buy up our politicians and expand their sphere of influence on the American stage (i.e., AIPAC).

You have to concede, it's sound strategy to let others die fighting [hence, killing] your enemies, even if it occasionly requires shooting your friends (while pointing the blame back at your enemies) ["by way of deception, thou shalt do war"]. Anyone really think Israel cares about dead Americans? I, among many others, feel they do not. [Credits to ProThink for the video.] They've even got a term of endearment for these gentiles who die for their cause, "goyim." It means "cattle."

In some ways, sadly, they may be right. "Let's party! It's the 4th of July!" Oh, if I had a dollar euro for every oblivious idiot I heard shout "USA #1!" a couple of years ago while attending a fireworks display at the beach. No, I didn't bother stopping them and asking, "Do you have any idea what is being done to your country right now?" How does one reach a person who has no idea what the hell the word "democracy" even means (or that America isn't supposed to be one)?

That's the media's job (arguably, a Zionist media). Why frustrate yourself trying to reach the average person rationally? The "goyim" suffer from [programmed] attention deficit disorder, they only understand MTV-like sound-bites and catch phrases. The American media, hence caters. Trust our talking heads. Listen to your daddy! Daddy says: "We are in Iraq fighting for freedom!"

"Terrorists hate freedom!" Watch the television, instead of looking around to you to see your own freedoms disappearing day by day. Daddy says: "It's cause terrorists hate freedom, that's why we're taking them away, understand?" Look, boobs! Oh, you're a woman. Look, shoes! The new jack boots of freedom may be stylish and expensive, but the end results are same as they ever were:

Those with a longer attention span may want to read this perspective on the main reason why America is in Iraq: The Israeli origins of Bush II's war. Sure, there may be several other motives for the war. There is also a lot of disinformation and counter-intelligence used to keep people busy and off the scent (e.g., oil). Like any mafia "bust-out" (recall the one in Goodfellas?), all the individual capos wants a cut, so they squeeze their personal agenda into the mix.

But, let's come back to the topic of who's going to be the next president for Israel of America. Remember the ferocious battle between Punch and Judy, I mean Obama and Hillary, for the Democratic nomination. What a nasty knock-down drag-out bloody feud that was! [Does sarcasm not suit me?]

The media played up the [mock] battle. For a while, it was a challenge to go out without hearing some numbskull talk about the "war" between the two lovers actors. This image from Time magazine, however, really floored me: "There can be only one!" That invokes the meme from the movie Highlander. Synchromystically, that would mean, in the end, one of them has to die!

Another way of looking at the cover, would be the visual implication that all our choices are related by blood. And, if Jesse Jackson has his way, there may be even less of a difference between Obama and Hillary than there is already. Regardless, as I implied earlier, you can be assured of one fact (if you ignore the media talk of enmity and battles): they are all in bed together. ALL OF THEM.

But, still if there can be only one, whom will it be? The way I see it playing out, is that first, Hillary and Obama will make up. The media will paint it as the perfect union, and that it's best to set aside differences, because the worst thing that could happen, is to let another Republican in the White House. And then sometime before or after the staged election, some unfortunate accident may befall Obama.

Now, I could give a whole number of reasons why this scenario seems the most feasible, but I prefer using the synchromystic tool. One, I heard the aforementioned Joh Stewart commence his June 12th broadcst with, "It's seven months now until Hillary Clinton is sworn in as our next president." And two, there's what can best be surmised as "the look" when comparing the following images:

I know I'm far from the first person to discuss this scenario, and I won't be the last (for reference point, just to prove I'm not jumping on the meme bandwagon, I'm linking my call to Global Reality on 03/04/08). Hearing that Ted Kennedy said "Obama reminds me of Jack," was distressing enough, then the public mind was assaulted further:

Israeli designs 'Who killed Barack Obama?' T-shirts

Stevie Wonder: 'Barack Obama like JFK and MLK'

Gosporn even caught Hillary getting in on the act with "The Meme Escapes." Will it happen? I don't know. I've never claimed to be psychic. I just look at patterns and interpret them. Sometime last year, I overheard these charlatans (¿The Psychic Sisters?) stun George Noory (Coast to Coast) with their "prediction" that Hillary would be the next president. Driving down the road listening, I grimaced: "I know dozens of people who could have told you that years ago George, and they wouldn't even have charged anyone a reading fee for the insight."

The scripted scenario is definitely within the realm of possibilities. But, I learned my lesson with my prior prognostication: unless it happens, people are going to jump all over you [¿by design?]. On one hand, the more people that figure out the plan, the less likely any conspiracy is likely to be proceed. On the other, even back on that November afternoon in 1963, JFK being assassinated by his enemies was but one potential outcome. Regardless of what happens, Hillary has played Lady MacBeth enough times, to where her conscience's need to wash the blood off its hands won't have her roaming the halls shouting "out damn spot" all night.

As George Carlin said before: "The reason they call it the American dream is because you have to be asleep to believe it." I know many who accidentally stumble across this, will do just that: turn out the lights, pull up the covers and return to the televised America of love, fun, ignorance masquerading as innocence, celebration and sex. Of course, lots and lots and lots of sex to keep the public distracted:

There's that damn heart symbol again! One of these days (I promise), I will write up something explaining it fully. For those tired of waiting, I'll drop a hint. Look at the symbol closely. Now, look lower. No, lower. As for the image on the right, two items to note. One, you'd have to be blind not to note the conspicuous pentagram laying in front of her crotch. Two, the All American Beauty on the cover is (and I didn't realize it until after I was about to finish this article), Jewish. [¿Are my EYES playing a trick on me or do her breasts form the face of an owl?]

So, while Americans dream of happy times (while Cthulhu dreams alongside them, awaiting his day to arise), refusing to wake up to the truth beating down upon them, and focus more on getting a piece [of ass], instead of making peace, the only thing for sure is that the architects and engineers of change do, in fact, have designs for a peaceful future in store for America:

To some, I suspect, this sounds preposterous. Unlike my experiences as of late, a recent weekend gathering, found me in the company of some Russians. Despite a lifetime of propaganda, they instincitively knew the Tsar was trying to build up their country before the "revolution." They knew the Zionists, posing as people's champions, are the ones who took over, wiping out their intelligentsia, destroying their communities and raping their land of it's natural resources. They knew who was responsible for the gulags and millions of them getting exterminated.

History repeats the old conceits
The glib replies the same defeats
Keep your finger on important issues
With crocodile tears and a pocketful of tissues

-- Elvis Costello, "Beyond Belief"

And, I can infer some similarities to the Russian model, with what I see in the "patriot movement" and all the "alternative media" pointing to the nebulous entity we call "the government" as being responsible for all our ills (rather than outsiders acting on the behalf of their hidden masters). Let's not see history repeat.

(informação Blogue do Público)

Mitt Romney will not seek to be repaid for the 45 million dollars of personal loans that he made to

Mitt Romney will not seek to be repaid for the 45 million dollars of personal loans that he made to his presidential campaign. The funds were the largest personal contribution by a candidate made during the primaries, but he will not ask or fundraise for donations to repay the debt.

The former presidential candidate’s Press Secretary, Eric Fehrnstrom said Romney’s “priority right now is raising money for other Republicans.” He has been actively campaigning for John McCain and speculation continues to rage that he will be the GOP nominee’s Vice-Presidential pick.

Fehrnstrom confirmed that he is not trying to recoup the funds and will write a letter to the Federal Election Committee explaining his decision, “At some point, the Romney loans will be reclassified as contributions. The way that will happen is the Governor will write a letter forgiving the outstanding loans,” Fehrnstrom explained through an e mail message, “That will occur around the time Romney for President is ready to shut down, when all the bills are paid and the books are balanced."

The Romney camp still has no specific date set for when this will happen.

During his failed presidential bid, Romney also raised more than 65 million dollars from donors and his ability to fundraise is one way he could help McCain as his running mate and a reason that is used to boost his chances as a Vice-Presidential pick. Yesterday, on Fox News Romney refused to tell Martha MacCallum if he was discussing the number two slot with the GOP nominee-in –waiting, “We talk about a wide array of topics, and I enjoy talking to him, but there is no speculation to report on that.”

On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton also donated her own funds to her campaign lending 12.2 million dollars to her presidential bid, but she is actively seeking donations to help get the money back. Barack Obama has even asked supporters to help pay down her debt, coming under fire when many asked why they should help pay back money she used to attack the candidate they support.

Important to note, though, the personal wealth of the two politicians are drastically different. Romney's fortune is estimated at 250 million dollars, while Clinton's wealth is estimated to be between 10 and 50 million dollars,.

Mitt Romney as the potential Vice-Presidential nominee of John McCain looks good for the following r

Mitt Romney as the potential Vice-Presidential nominee of John McCain looks good for the following reasons.

(1) Romney is articulate on economic issues, and he is reasonable credible on this -- John McCain could do with some reinforcement here.

(2) While it is unlikely that McCain will eventually can/will win the states of Pennsylvania and Michigan but Romney's addition to the ticket will most probably force Barack Obama to invest time, money and energies in those states (to the detriment of other states) because of Romney's connections to Michigan (Romney's dad was the governor of Michigan) and the populist element in his rhetoric which should appeal to the citizenry in these states.

(3) Romney is a good and deferential soldier -- he knows when to fight and when to fold.

Kathleen Sebelius, while most intriguing, may not be quite the for Barack Obama. Here is why --

(1) Kansas is unassailably safe for McCain. Sebelius cannot help.

(2) May be Sebelius can help in Ohio where her father was a governor long time back but that is a bit of stretch -- unlike Romney who actually contested the Michigan primaries and won, Sebelius' connections have not been revived.

(3) Sebelius brings no foreign policy and/or national security heft -- Obama could do with some reinforcement in this dimension.

(4) Sebelius' choice may be seen and commentated upon by at least by some observers as somewhat of an open rejection of Hillary Clinton.

Barack Obama is better off with Governor Tim Kaine of Virigina who would at least make Virigina very, very doable for Obama -- though he does not cover the foreign policy heft-gap. Bill Richardson would be marvelous -- he would cover the foreign policy heft-gap nicely, and make Colorado, New Mexico and may be Nevada very, very doable for Obama but for some reason the Clintons are emotional about Bill Richardson.

Well but for Bill Richardson there is no obvious choice for Obama -- but Richardson carries the angry emotion of the Clinton supporters (it is not clear why.)

As the Democrats held the most exciting primary in ages, so too the general election is shaping up

As the Democrats held the most exciting primary in ages, so too the general election is shaping up to be a national slugfest. Nearing the conventions, interest in the VP selections is building, but getting any real information is just as impossible now as it was before the process started. Over the last few weeks, we've heard many people mentioned as "the leaders" for both parties, and one has to wonder whether any of these are true leaders or whether all these stories were mere trial balloons.

CBS has a couple of pages on their website tracking the "Veepstakes" (Republican and Democrat) that include candidates who are rising and falling (by CBS estimates) and a brief bio of each. Number one on the Republican side is Mitt Romney, also a favorite of several authors on this site. Given the personality conflicts between these two men during the primaries, it would be nearly as good as an Obama-Clinton ticket. I have a hard time seeing it. I think too much is being read into Romney's efforts at campaigning on behalf of McCain. That's simply expected of those vanquished in the primaries.

Romney brings a lot to the table in terms of eloquence and economics, but it is unlikely that adding Romney to the ticket would help McCain even in Massachusettes. Romney could be expected to be unflappable during debates (if the Democrats agree to any), but his debate demeanor sometimes comes across as angry, too. Still, Romney would be an okay choice--someone who would neither add nor subtract.

On the Democrat side, CBS places Kathleen Sebelius at the top. She is the Governor of Kansas, a traditional red state, and hails originally from Ohio, the ultimate battleground state. As for winning over states, Sebelius may be able to pull two over the edge, which would be quite a political feat in a year when every electoral vote might be needed. Also, her selection might just help ease a few of the feminist Clinton supporters (from every state) who are threatening to withhold their support. To the negative, her only national appearances have been more than a little flat (see her rebuttal to the State of the Union). This could be a great pick, or it could be a Geraldine Ferraro pick.

CBS also lets you vote on which candidate you'd like to see get the nod. On the Democrat side, Hillary Clinton leads the voting with 23%. That's not going to happen. Next on the list is the category "Someone Else" at 14%, which is closely followed by Bill "El Dialo" Richardson and then Sebelius, both coming in around 13%.

On the Republican side, Sarah Palin leads handily at 43%. She is followed by by Romney at 11%. It should be pointed out that Internet polls are next to useless. I, myself, have voted for Palin several times just trying to get the results to come up while writing this story. Still, that's a pretty big lead and demonstrates she has a grassroots following that could make her an attractive option for McCain.

Palin also received the endorsement of pollster Scott Rasmussen on Sean Hannity's radio show Monday. She won't automatically deliver a blue state to the red. Unless Jesus (who could be included in the "someone else" category) returns as Obama's running mate, Alaska is not going to vote Democrat. But depending upon which gender Obama picks for his Vice President, Palin might just bring an enormous amount of votes with her--potentially from every state. Charismatic and tough as nails, all she lacks is more national exposure.

Other Republican possibilities that I would put into the Romney category of "okay but not great" would be Charlie Crist, who brings nothing but a slight bump in Florida, which is likely to go McCain's way no matter who he picks. Crist would be another moderate white male on the ticket. Bobby Jindal, again, brings no states with him, but might have some minority appeal. His positions on a variety of social issues, such as teaching creationism in schools, could turn as many off as it turns on. Tim Pawlenty is charismatic and conservative, but carries the "Romney-spector" that he likely could not carry his own state, as Minnessota has only voted for one Republican for President in the last 40 years.

In the "so good they are almost Palin" category, I would place only Rob Portman. Never mind that neither he nor Palin are well-known nationally now. Once selected, they'll be well-known enough. Portman is very fiscally conservative and fairly well-spoken. He is from Ohio and has ties to Michigan--two vital battlegrounds in this election--having graduated from the University of Michigan (I bet folks in Ohio didn't know that when they elected him to Congress--GO BIG TEN!). Overall, my strategy for McCain would be to wait and see who Obama picks. If Obama goes with Sebelius or any other female, I would pick Portman. If Obama goes with a male VP, I would go with Palin.

Just being honest, I'm too conservative to make a decent "better than/worse than" list on the Democrat side. Frankly, they all seem lousy to me. But if I were forced into making what I thought would be the best choice for Obama, I would probably offer (not including Jesus) the following three in no particular order; the aforementioned Sebelius, Virginia Governor Tim Kaine and Indiana Senator Evan Bayh. Bayh, through the force of his charisma, is almost singlehandedly turning Indiana to the left and could help potentially help all across the Midwest. Tim Kaine, meanwhile, almost certainly would pull Virginia for Obama, leaving McCain in the uncomfortable position of having to find more improbable electorate votes elsewhere.

Wow. $45 million dollars, and he isn't going to try to recover a single one of those dollars. And the speculation begins anew.

The move could clear away the last remnants of a divisive primary race, ensuring that he and his financial supporters are focused on helping McCain, but it could also put him at odds with McCain’s campaign reform message.

Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom said yesterday that the former Massachusetts governor is preparing to have the loans “reclassified as contributions” and will write a letter to the Federal Election Commission explaining that he is “forgiving the outstanding loans.”

Some analysts said McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, might undermine his reform message if he picks someone who bankrolled so much of his own campaign.

Hmm. That is a good point about McCain's campaign reform message, but I don't think the Dems would have room to speak on that this year. There does seem to be quite a bit to chatter about a McCain/Romney ticket, and that $45 mil would have to be dealt with one way or another before that happened. Romney is no fool, and he's not going to write off that much money if he didn't think there was something in it for him.

Ok, by the time you read what I have to say, some of you will think I had waaayyy too much time on m

Ok, by the time you read what I have to say, some of you will think I had waaayyy too much time on my hands today but here goes:

It seems that every time I turn on the TV or pick up the newspaper- there he is: Mitt Romney. He is everywhere.

The speculation about Romney being "vetted" for McCain's vice president increases every day, along with the interest for who McCain will actually select and when. The way I can describe how I feel about the waiting: it is worse than waiting to go to the dentist to see how many cavities I might have from my last check up!

Today I 'googled' for some information. I started with "Negative News about..."

Mitt Romney - 707,000

Mike Huckabee - 789,000

(John McCain - 256,000)

Not liking to go negative (which "Mittens" had no problem with), I changed my search to be Positive News:

Mitt Romney - 88,100

Mike Huckabee - 102,000

(John McCain - 240,000)

I also found positive and negative numbers for Clinton and Obama, but that is another story.

Digging deeper, reasons listed for Romney to be McCain's VP seem to be his ability to raise money, ability to compete in Michigan, is an effective surrogate for McCain at fundraisers and on cable TV.

Checking out information on Romney as VP- I could have looked at 2,430,000 sites and Huckabee-1,610,000. I was starting to get the picture. High profile "conservatives" have been pushing Romney and most of the news media seem to be promoting him as well.

Does it impress me that Romney spent over 35 million of his own money, that he was successful when he ran the Olympics, that he changed his views according to which state he was campaigning in, etc.? NO.

All the pain medication available will not dull the painful feeling I will have if Romney is selected for McCain's ticket. McCain is a challenge for me to support the way it is and if Romney is on the ballot, it will not be hard for me at all to leave that part of the ballot empty.

I faithfully watched the Republican debates, only to see Romney as a negative person, with a smile.

That's not enough for me and I suspect not enough for other Iowans to dull their Republican/Conservative pain with a vote for a McCain/Romney ticket.

The New York Times recently reported on Massachusetts’s move to repeal a law from 1913 that ba

The New York Times recently reported on Massachusetts's move to repeal a law from 1913 that banned out-of-state marriages that would not be recognized in their home states. According to The Times, this law may have been originally created to help out states with bans on interracial marriage. With that in mind, I am somewhat shocked that anyone dares to publicize their support for the 1913 ban, but then again people get pretty excited about anything that bolsters gay marriage. Former Gov. and perpetual bigot Mitt Romney used the law back in ’04 to back up his hate-based agenda. Now NY Governor Deval Patrick, Democrat and dad to a daughter who happens to be lesbian, is quick to note that the repeal is not only the right thing to do from an ethical standpoint, but it is also likely to help the economy. New York same-sex couples are anticipated to flock to Mass for their union ceremonies, considering that NY’s Gov. Paterson has his state ready to recognize same-sex unions from other states. A $111 million infusion is expected to roll in for the fine state of Massachusetts.

It’s no surprise that hate groups masquerading as science-based research institutes representing families quickly poo-pooed the news. Silly citizens, don’t you know that gay people come from, and continue to live in, caves instead of families? Families don’t have LGB members, and queer folks don’t have families. Just caves, or maybe spaceships. (sigh) They declared that it would provide grist for further movement toward federal amendment attempts, but were pretty much unable to counter the financial benefits of the move. That’s right, money continues to work magic.

Since we’re on the topic of voting with dollars, I would like to suggest that those of you considering hetero unions/marriages look into visiting a state that allows same-sex ceremonies. Destination weddings are all the rage, plus you’re bringing even more financial support to states who are doing things right. We did that with our union ceremony; booking an entire B&B, paying the license fees, going out to eat, and patronizing the airport and local attractions with our cash. While you’re at it, consider sending a letter with the total costs to members of your own state government to let them know how much they lost out on, with a copy to the friendly hosting state. I hear Boston is lovely...

(CNN)—Former presidential candidate Mitt Romney laughed off questions about his vice presidential potential Wednesday.

“With regards to all the people that think I might be on some kind of shortlist, the only one that really counts in my regard is John McCain,” Romney told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. “I don’t think he’s told anybody what his thinking is.”

The former Massachusetts governor continued to downplay his chances of joining the GOP ticket. “I don’t want to engage in any speculation with regards to the VP sweepstakes,” he said. “I expect to support the administration and the McCain team. I don’t expect to be part of it.”

Election Center: Who's on McCain's VP list?

In recent months, Romney has been a constant presence on the airwaves as a surrogate for John McCain’s campaign, often serving as a tough critic of presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama.

“People recognize they need new leadership, strong leadership,” Romney told CNN last month. “Not somebody who is consistently putting himself and his party ahead of the interests of the nation.”

Earlier this week, McCain praised Romney’s support of his own presidential bid, adding fuel to the mounting VP speculation.

“I’m appreciative every time I see Mitt on television on my behalf,” McCain said at a fundraising event in New Mexico. “He does a better job for me than he did for himself, as a matter of fact.”

On Wednesday, Romney agreed. “The campaigning I did for myself resulted in a loss,” Romney said, laughing. “I don’t want to hurt [McCain], I want to help him.”

You know something about excommunication...it totally ups ones hottness factor. I mean come on this guy did something so wrong he was excommunicated from a major religion. I'd totally hit it, and the guy on the cover of the calender...I'm just saying. I just hope he got to keep the money he made from the calender...why not keep the money if your church excommunicated you?

On a final more fun/gratuitous hottness note the Dark Knight premiered with much fanfare in NY. I was browsing blogs and found this hottness of man. So I am going to end the post with him. He is oh so good looking! Anyone know who he is and where I can order one? Also, I hope I don't get in trouble for using this photo...gulp!

Although Mitt Romney is refusing to speak about whether or not current talks with McCain's camp are taking place or that background info has changed hands, his stock in the Republican Veepstakes is rising as the press needs a new political face to obsess over nowadays. We all know how the press influences McCain, so their buzz may have an actual affect on McCain's eventual Veep choice. Romney was the most experienced candidate on either side of the primaries in regards to his knowledge of the private sector and the economy, which has become his greatest asset in the Veepstakes.

Now that the economy is the most important issue in this election, Romney's a logical selection for McCain who unfortunately admitted in the primaries that the economy was not his strong suit. Yet, amongst all the others, we nominated McCain (sigh). Alas, Romney is articulate, energetic, and optimistic --characteristics that McCain sometimes lacks. Romney's direct and aggressive and will be able to hit Obama in ways that McCain can't (or won't). I'm not sure how Romney helps McCain pick up any specific states other than Michigan perhaps, but I think it'll strengthen the overall ticket down the road, potentially keeping Red states Red. At least adding Romney will pull the ticket and message toward the Right for a change.

Romney has been one of the most rabid surrogates for McCain in the media since his painful loss to the Arizona Senator in March. Despite their animosities toward each other during the primary (I thought it was hilarious), Romney is a star amongst fiscal conservatives and is obviously eyeing the number 2 spot.

I think Romney might be a good choice for McCain. He would compliment McCain's admitted lack of knowledge on the economy (at least in the public opinion, many people seem to believe that just because he made money with a corporation that he would do well managing our economy), he's from Michigan, which could be a key swing state, and he'd bring some youth to the ticket.

On the downside, everyone hates him.

Recently McCain has been more gracious than ever to his one-time adversary: Romney for VP?

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/07/15/art.romney.gi.jpg caption="Romney has said he is interested in being McCain's VP."](CNN) -- Is Mitt Romney's VP stock rising?

John McCain's campaign has remained tight-lipped about its vice presidential vetting process, but the Arizona senator appeared to suggest Monday night his former rival would make a very effective running mate.

iReport.com: Share your picks for VP

"I'm appreciative every time I see Mitt on television on my behalf," McCain said at a fundraising event in New Mexico. "He does a better job for me than he did for himself, as a matter of fact."

Watch: Romney promotes McCain

There's no denying the former Massachusetts governor is angling for the No. 2 position on the Republican presidential ticket. He said back in March he would be "honored" to take the position and has been a constant fixture on cable news shows over the last several months -- vigorously promoting the Arizona senator's candidacy while sharply criticizing that of Obama.

Related: Romney leads speculation in CNN's political market

Just last week the onetime Republican presidential hopeful said Obama "looks toward Europe for a lot of his inspiration” after the Illinois senator suggested Americans would benefit from knowing more languages.

“I think John McCain is going to make sure that America stays America,” Romney said in an interview on Fox News.

Romney has long been considered a leading VP contender, despite engaging in a bruising and at times nasty primary fight with McCain. The economy has solidly become the dominant issue this election cycle and Romney, who founded the investment firm Bain Capital, brings a sterling business resume -- particularly to a candidate who has admitted he lacks knowledge about economic matters. Romney is also a native of Michigan, and could given McCain the edge in that crucial battleground state that the Democrats won in 2004.

Mitt Romney’s tenacity coupled with the increasing focus on the economy lead me to believe he

Mitt Romney's tenacity coupled with the increasing focus on the economy lead me to believe he's the best choice as John McCain's potential running mate -- even though McCain obviously loathes him. I write the following in my New York Sun column.

"The answer to many of Mr. McCain's problems is looming in plain, uncomfortable sight: He needs a running mate who can immediately infuse the campaign with energy, a fluid surrogate who can hammer away at Mr. Obama, stay focused, not lose his cool, and, most of all, an economic expert, who can negate, if not reverse, the Democrat's perceived advantage in the areas of jobs and growth. The man who possesses those qualities is the same person who got under Mr. McCain's skin during the primary fight — Mitt Romney.

To suggest that Messrs. McCain and Romney present an unlikely team is obvious to any observer of Republican politics. Mr. McCain speaks his mind and is even caustic in public; the former Massachusetts governor is smooth to the point of being slick. Mr. McCain, in both actions and appearance, is gritty, gutsy, and courageous; Mr. Romney, with his telegenic hair and shirt and tie ensembles, evokes a 1950s anchorman-like android quality.

Mr. McCain spent much time abroad in the 1960s as a prisoner of war in a North Vietnamese prison camp; Mr. Romney attempted to proselytize on behalf of his Mormon faith in the French countryside during the same period. Mr. McCain is a self-described computer "illiterate" who relies on his wife to help him online; Mr. Romney's preferred method of presentation is computerized power point. These disparate qualities, when fused together in the odd alchemy of ticket politics, add up to a notable combination."

The Democratic leaders of the state House and Senate and Gov. Deval Patrick support a repeal, which could come up for a vote as early as Tuesday in the Senate and could reach the governor's desk by the end of week.

Former Gov. Mitt Romney, who invoked the nearly forgotten law after gay marriage went into effect in 2004, once warned that repealing the law would make Massachusetts the "Las Vegas of gay marriage."

But California's embrace of same-sex marriage — coupled with the Massachusetts' election of Patrick, a pro-gay-marriage Democrat — has breathed new life into the repeal drive.

This is a very clever little application. It's really a strategy game that happens to be dressed up in election politics, but you don't have to know or care anything about politics to play and enjoy. In the game, you play as either Barack Obama or John McCain. You use your operatives to raise money by controlling different regions of the country, and also to take out your opponent's operatives. Each unit has a special ability or abilities, but using them costs money.

The result is a very playable and enjoyable game with amusing sound and visual effects. You can play against another player or against a computer opponent. Best of all, you can play simply by visiting the website, without having to download anything or provide any information. Be warned, however: This game can be addictive.

http://www.campaigngame.us/

For those who are still carrying a torch for a defeated primary candidate such as Hillary Clinton or Mitt Romney, here is a link to an older version of the game where you can play as those characters:

With the Democrats sabotaging our economy on so many different levels, it only makes sense for John McCain to choose Mitt Romney as his running mate.

Governor Romney has a proven track record as a successful business man. He understands the US economy better than most politicians, as he has actually worked in the private sector.
