Fredagsmys is tha shit helt enkelt.

Igår var jag på en mycket lyckad studiedag där två före detta högerextrimister från Exit föreläste om ungdomar i Vit-makt miljö. Mycket spännande men samtidigt skrämmande.

Prepare to have your definitions of Japanese pop turned inside out. If your perception of the genre has previously been restricted to products of MTV Asia, sub par anime, and j-pop pretty boys/girls, then prepare to get knocked off your barstool. Jack of all trades Shugo Tokumaru's third solo album is the record that he has been destined to make since 2004's mini pop masterpiece Night Piece. But both Night Piece's nocturnal atmospherics and the following year's psychedelic excursions of L.S.T. were highly themed, and it would only seem like a matter of time before Tokumaru would make an album like Exit, a full on pop album. Immediately significant is the first song, the first by Shugo that could constitute as a pop hit. It is here that all of his finest talents convene for one hell of a single. He has a great sense of the melodic hook, and his advertised multi-instrumental talent still ends up being the focal point of both Parachute and the better portion of the rest of the album. Silly melodic flourishes and gentle harmonies dress each piece, and the album is said to use over fifty of the one hundred instruments that Tokumaru claims to be able to play. This is only one of the many features of Tokumaru's albums that have caused critics to label him a pop innovator. He is certainly this, but more in the traditional sense. The time signature switchups and chord progressions that the musician utilizes are definitely out of the ordinary, at least for traditional pop, but nothing here feels out of place, and every song is a whimsical, poppy gem splashed with childlike innocence and Eastern style. Also notable are his vocals, light, easily maneuverable, and completely appropriate for his music, and although his lyrics wont be understood by non-Japanese speakers, his emotion transcends language barriers. Highlights are not few. The first three songs, Parachute, Green Rain (continuing his tradition of songs named after various forms of precipitation) and Clocca are extremely memorable and easy picks for singles. The musician also finds room for straightforward guitar pop throughout, making the acoustic guitar his main instrument of choice as gently exemplified on Sanganichi. Also highly memorable are the last three songs. Hidamari is a gentle lullaby spectacularly detailed with lush instrumentation that manages to not be overbearing in any way. La La Radio is possibly the most ambitious song on the album. It transitions from melancholic to fast in catchy in about the most effective way imaginable. The album is capped off by Wedding, an instrumental piece that might have felt at home on Night Piece four years ago. What is truly amazing is that it feels completely at home here as well, which is a good indication that Tokumaru has amassed a solid repertoire of songs and styles throughout his three albums that can truly qualify him as a distinctive figure in music.

Sold my SKF from a cost basis of $102.60 from yesterday (fee $5). The ETF still seem poised to go higher in the near term. However, since I'll be off to Taiwan for a few days, I don't want to leave the position unattended as it is highly volatile. Ideally, I'd like to wait for the price to reach at least $110 or later in the week to sell it. Still, I am satisfied with my small gain and would not risk more for a little gain (I considered placing a limit sell at $110).

I still believe SKF has a lot of potential for a much higher price in the coming weeks to about > $120 based on the fundamentals (i.e. the laughable spin by the media on Buffett's deal with Goldman Sach) and technicals.

function_name () or die("ur message");

The die statement stops the script and prints out whatever u haved entered in its message. is is when the function returns false !

but remeber that u should shut off the display for error messages, otherwise ur used will c 2 error messages.

U can also handle possible functions faileres by using the function call as condition.

Exit Enterprises is a Baltimore based music collective that got their start by throwing underground parties. The spot's entrance was a doorway in an alley with a glowing Exit sign above the door. These parties were advertised through word of mouth.

"Just look for the glowing Exit Sign behind St. Paul street."

The parties grew and eventually were moved to Sonar, one of the biggest clubs in Baltimore. No longer throwing parties, the collective has been busy building their discography and starting their own label. Below is a sample of my favorite song on their new release "Holdin On":

Also featured on this first release is Baltimore's very own, Exit, have music been featured on DJ mixes around the globe, such are Roger Sanchez' show - Release Yourself as well as John Digweed's Transitions radio show. Exit's music can be heard on mixes from DJs like James Curd, Mark Farina, Diz, Inland Knights, Littlemen and even Derrick Carter.

Robocopy is a great tool for copying files and is built into Vista. As a reference here is some information on the exit codes (not error codes - they provide information about what the program did), from http://kerpau.net/robocopy-exit-codes/

The return code from Robocopy is a bit map, defined as follows:

Hex Bit Value Decimal Value Meaning If Set

0×10 16 Serious error. Robocopy did not copy any files. This is either a usage error or an error due to insufficient access privileges on the source or destination directories.

0×08 8 Some files or directories could not be copied (copy errors occurred and the retry limit was exceeded). Check these errors further.

0×04 4 Some Mismatched files or directories were detected. Examine the output log. Housekeeping is probably necessary.

0×02 2 Some Extra files or directories were detected. Examine the output log. Some housekeeping may be needed.

0×01 1 One or more files were copied successfully (that is, new files have arrived).

0×00 0 No errors occurred, and no copying was done. The source and destination directory trees are completely synchronized.

You might get a code not listed here, like 3. If this is the case, all of the codes that add up to the value you received happened. Exit code 3 indicates that files were copied and that extra directories were detected. This might happen if you're backing up a folder. I'll talk about using robocopy for vista backups next time.

Sold all my CAF @ $32.35 (fee $5) for a sizable gain (in at $24.02) in just a few days. And 20%+ in today alone! The price bounced back right at the 50 dma. Furthermore, there's a lot of talk about the central banks saving the financials. DJIA moved about 900 points in past two days already. Lastly, today is a quadruple witching Friday, so I don't want to leave the gain on the table with the expected volatility.

In any case, I've stuck to my target of leaving at about $30 and/or when the price spikes up.

It's becoming cliché to talk of Philip Roth's "late flowering". Between his 64th and 73rd years, he reeled off American Pastoral (1997), I Married a Communist (1998), The Human Stain (2000), The Dying Animal (2001), The Plot Against America (2004) and Everyman (2006) -- an oeuvre so rich, so filmable, so devourable that most novelists would happily call it a lifetime's work. For Roth it took nine years. But Exit Ghost (2007) breaks the sequence -- it's his worst piece of fiction since the Eighties.

We join long-suffering Roth alterego Nathan Zuckerman in a nervy post-9/11 New York. Aging fast and disconnected from the world, he indulges in a house swap with a couple of trendy creatives so as to reimmerse himself in the "Here and Now".

The first surprise is that knowledge of The Ghost Writer (1979), a novel published 30-odd years ago, is assumed. If you don't know your E.I. Lonoff from your elbow, frustration will quickly ensue. This, then, is one for aficionados, though Roth geeks will be puzzled by the lack of continuity with The Human Stain. What happened to Les Farley? How come Zuckerman doesn't know what the "World Wide Web" is, when he used to go on and on about emails and newsgroups?

Even allowing that Exit Ghost is an epilogue rather than a novel, it's tepid stuff. Zuckerman, ultimately, has become an average old bloke with an average old bloke's concerns: incontinence, impotence, senility, nostalgia, younger women. The book -- though composed (of course) in witty, tight, marvellous prose -- never rises above the mildly diverting. Perhaps for Roth, as for Zuckerman, Autumn is finally here.

Sold all my ESLR for a small profit. News of Barclay picking up Lehman's mess means that ESLR's deal might not go to worst case scenario. Price of ESLR shot up 20%+. This seems like a good time to exit (sell on rumour). I expect some volatility around the $4 - $5 range as there are still a lot of guesswork going on regarding ESLR's deal with Lehman. However, the recent low of $3.3 is likely to be a bottom. I'll wait for a better re-entry in the $4.x range. Fee = $5.79
